Centralized Management
Guardian Lock School Edition is being developed for school-managed Google Chrome and Chromebook environments.
Organizations using Google Admin will be able to centrally deploy Guardian Lock and provide its policies to managed devices. This allows authorized administrators to maintain approved channels and restrictions without configuring every student device individually.
Students cannot change the centrally managed Guardian Lock policy on their devices.
Current Availability
A working Guardian Lock School Edition release candidate has been developed and demonstrated in a local managed-policy environment. It is currently being prepared and tested for broader deployment through Google Admin and the Chrome Web Store.
A real-world Google Admin and managed-Chromebook pilot is still required before general production availability.
